Bogor (ANTARA) - Bale Badami in Bogor, West Java, has resolved eight disputes through mediation and restorative justice without court proceedings. Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim stated on Sunday that the dispute resolution via Bale Badami is an implementation of Bogor City Regulation No. 1 of 2024 on the Operation of Bale Badami. ‘With the presence of Bale Badami, supported by legal aid organisations, not all issues need to go to court. There are also resolution methods through mediation,’ he said. According to Dedie, 14 cases have been facilitated by Bale Badami to find solutions outside the litigation path. Of these, eight cases have been resolved, while three were handled by the Legal Aid Foundation for Justice and Prosperity (LBH BAS). ‘Of the 14 cases, approximately eight have been resolved through Bale Badami and three by BAS,’ he added. He explained that citizens facing legal issues can utilise LBH BAS consultation services to seek alternative dispute resolution via Bale Badami using restorative justice. He noted that this mechanism serves as a solution for various cases by prioritising dialogue and consensus between the disputing parties. One resolved case, Dedie said, involved a member of Bogor City’s Municipal Police (Satpol PP) who had previously attracted public attention. Meanwhile, LBH BAS Chairman Tini Sumartini stated that BAS has two main units: the Legal Aid Foundation for Justice and Prosperity and the Creative Economy Foundation for Justice and Prosperity. He added that BAS’s operations are bolstered by support from Martini & Partners and Associates Law Firm to expand legal aid and community empowerment services. On the same occasion, BAS launched a podcast programme as a platform for young people to discuss and develop creativity in digital media. ‘This programme facilitates Gen Z peers active on social media. We provide a space for them to gather, discuss, and collaborate here,’ Tini said.
