Bakso Vendor in Tasik Files Counter-Report Against Customer
A bakso vendor in Tasikmalaya has filed a counter-report against his customer over an alleged assault and kidnapping case he experienced. This action follows the customer, identified by the initials E (23), a resident of Cipedes, who previously reported the vendor, S (48), for suspected sexual harassment.
“Both parties have now made police reports, reporting each other. The one who claims to have been molested has reported, and the one who claims to have been assaulted has reported. It’s now about which side has stronger evidence. We have accepted both reports,” said the Head of Criminal Investigation at Tasikmalaya City Police Resort, AKP Herman Saputra, as quoted by detikJabar on Wednesday (22/4/2026).
The incident began with an event on Jalan Cieunteung, Cilembang Ward, Cihideung Subdistrict, on Sunday (19/4). At that time, the bakso vendor S (48) along with his nephew F (20) were attacked by a group of men. S was reportedly beaten before being forcibly taken away by the perpetrators.
Police officers managed to locate both of them safe and sound approaching midnight. Based on preliminary investigations, the act of violence is suspected to have been triggered by accusations of sexual harassment, which investigators are now also examining.
The police have emphasised that they will handle both reports professionally and impartially. Currently, the investigation process is ongoing, including examining several witnesses who were at the scene.
“What is certain is that we will handle it professionally. We will first conduct a thorough investigation, and we are currently examining witnesses,” said Herman.
Police have also conducted scene processing (TKP) at two different locations. The alleged harassment is said to have occurred at S’s bakso kiosk, while the alleged assault and kidnapping took place in the kiosk area and continued to E’s house in the Cipedes Subdistrict.
In the early stages of the investigation, police stated that they have not yet found strong evidence regarding the sexual harassment allegation reported by E. The accusation arose from claims that S touched E’s sensitive body parts through a hole in the partition board at the bakso kiosk.
