Bakrie's Palm Oil and Rubber Issuer Records Sales of Rp 2.56 Trillion in 2025
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Tbk (UNSP) recorded an 86% growth in operating profit to Rp 388 billion in 2025, compared to Rp 209 billion in 2024.
Sales for the full year 2025 were recorded at Rp 2.56 trillion, a 10% increase from the previous year’s Rp 2.3 trillion. Meanwhile, gross profit rose 25% to Rp 757.1 billion in 2025 from Rp 604.5 billion the previous year.
The company recorded an EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) of Rp 550.8 billion, a 48% growth in 2025 compared to Rp 371.9 billion in the prior period.
UNSP’s Director and Investor Relations, Andi W. Setianto, stated that to drive performance, the company continues to optimise factory productivity. Additionally, UNSP purchases palm fruit from farmers without their own mills.
“The company continues to work hard to increase plantation asset productivity, including rejuvenation using superior seeds, amid rising global CPO (Crude Palm Oil) commodity prices from a monthly average of $1,082 per tonne CIF Rotterdam in 2024 to $1,221 in 2025,” Andi said in an official statement on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
“Sustainability in palm oil encompasses many aspects of people and planet, such as prospering farmers in line with Sustainable Development Goal no-poverty, zero-waste in accordance with the Circular Economy, and no-deforestation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions for Climate Change,” he added.
He emphasised that UNSP has also innovated through the development of superior seeds that produce more palm fruit with the same plantation area.
Currently, national palm oil productivity is only around 3 tonnes of CPO per hectare per year, where with superior seeds, productivity potential can increase after the replanting programme.
“With superior seeds, plantation area does not need to expand, producing multiple times more CPO, which further increases biodiesel production for national energy security,” he explained.
UNSP’s President Director, Bayu Irianto, stated that UNSP views superior seeds and the people’s palm oil replanting programme as keys to farmers’ welfare and sustainable palm oil productivity.
He said that the ongoing sustainable productivity enhancement strategy will have more positive impacts felt in the medium and long term.
“Continuing our focus on increasing plantation and factory productivity, we will proceed with concrete steps to enhance other asset productivity and improve capital structure,” Bayu explained.
“We are optimistic that in the medium and long term, the company will rise again, finding the best momentum to become one of the plantation companies with strong business fundamentals,” he asserted.
