Bakrie unit to supply pipes to PGN

JAKARTA: A unit of Indonesia's PT Bakrie & Brothers and a
partner will supply as much as 53,000 metric tons of pipe valued
at US$84 million to state gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas
Negara (PGN) by May.

PT South East Asia Pipe Industries, a unit of Bakrie &
Brothers, will supply four-fifths of the 53,000 tons of undersea
pipe that will be used to connect Lampung and West Java
provinces, said the unit's President Abas F. Soeriawidjaja in a
phone interview in Jakarta.

The remaining pipe will be supplied by a Bakrie partner.
Bakrie's South East Asia Pipe Industries has the capacity to make
150,000 tons of pipe a year.

The company supplies pipe to state oil company PT Pertamina
and ConocoPhillips in Indonesia. -- Bloomberg
