Bakrie forms new firm

JAKARTA (JP): PT Bakrie & Brothers, one of the holding
companies of the Bakrie Group, formed here yesterday a new sub-
holding company to strengthen the group's business in the power
industry and in engineering activities.

The business group, which is listed on the Jakarta and
Surabaya stock exchanges, announced here yesterday that the new
company, PT Bakrie Power Corporation (BPC), will cooperate with
Nordic Power Invest, a Scandinavian power firm, in carrying out
its business activities.

It said that the cooperation with the Scandinavian firm will
cover planning, feasibility studies, project engineering,
construction, management, operation and the transfer of
technology.(hen)
