Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency (Bakom), Muhammad Qodari, stated that the public is increasingly feeling the benefits of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme, including in terms of ease of obtaining nutritious food.

At a press conference at the Bakom RI Office in Jakarta on Wednesday, Bakom Head Qodari conveyed that a survey conducted by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) involving 81,100 households across Indonesia showed that the majority of MBG recipient households expressed approval of the programme’s benefits, with approval levels increasing from July to November 2025 in all surveyed aspects.

“Increasing ease of obtaining nutritious meals rose from 81.4 percent to 84.1 percent. Improving nutritious eating behaviour from 80.3 percent to 84.1 percent,” said Qodari.

Not only that, he also highlighted that the percentage of students who consumed the entire MBG portion also increased from 66.9 percent in July 2025 to 69.8 percent in November 2025.

He said this indicates improvements in menu quality and taste on a regular basis.

“Regarding MBG, as we have conveyed, the core is that the government continues to improve governance. Of course, since this involves a very large number, it certainly requires cooperation with other ministries and agencies,” stated Qodari.

In particular, he highlighted that since the implementation of the Hygiene and Sanitation Certificate (SLHS), there has been a significant increase. Throughout 2026, there were 3,615 complaints received at the SAGI 127 call centre operated by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).
