Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of the Government Communication Body (Bakom) Muhammad Qodari has stressed that the layout of the Plenary Cabinet Session was designed to support the effectiveness of President Prabowo Subianto’s directives, not related to the position of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

“The seating position at the Plenary Cabinet Session follows the format of a presidential briefing to all cabinet session members, not a meeting format that places the President and Vice President side by side,” Qodari said in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He explained that this cabinet session format was arranged as a briefing from the President to all members of the Plenary Cabinet Session.

According to Qodari, the seating arrangement is not related to the position or constitutional authority of the Vice President. In this format, the Vice President attends as a participant in the Plenary Cabinet Session alongside the cabinet members.

He said the arrangement was made to support the smooth delivery of the President’s directives given the large number of participants attending the session.

Qodari also denied the assumption that the seating position reflected a change in the Vice President’s standing.

“The seating arrangement is purely a technical matter of event organisation. There is no change in the position or reduction of the constitutional role of the Vice President,” said Qodari.
