Bakom Appreciates Hoegeng Awards, Confident Polri Will Become More Professional
The Government Communication Agency (Bakom) of the Republic of Indonesia has expressed its appreciation for the 2026 Hoegeng Awards organised by detikcom. General Hoegeng is regarded as an inspirational figure of the National Police (Polri).
“Firstly, we at the Communication Agency certainly appreciate what Polri and detikcom have done in organising these Hoegeng Awards. As we know, Pak Hoegeng was an inspirational figure of Polri, renowned for his integrity and his honesty,” said Deputy II of Bakom RI, Timothy Ivan Triono, following the award ceremony on Friday (31/7/2026).
He expressed hope that all members of the Bhayangkara Corps could follow in the footsteps of General Hoegeng, particularly regarding his integrity.
“We certainly hope that all Polri personnel throughout Indonesia will uphold the values long championed by General Hoegeng,” he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy III of Bakom RI, Kurnia Ramadhana, congratulated the winners. He expressed confidence that through such award ceremonies, Polri would become increasingly professional in the future.
“Of course, we also congratulate the winners. We are confident that Polri will be better going forward, that Polri will become increasingly professional, and that Polri will shine ever brighter in upholding the rule of law,” he said.
“And certainly, we hope the Hoegeng Awards themselves will continue to improve and grow even better in the years to come,” he added.
About the Hoegeng Awards
The Hoegeng Awards are a collaborative programme between detikcom and Polri to honour exemplary police officers. There are five award categories in the 2026 Hoegeng Awards: Dedicated Police Officer, Innovative Police Officer, Police Officer with Integrity, Police Protector of Women and Children, and Border and Remote Area Police Officer.
The 2026 Hoegeng Awards process began with the collection of nominations for exemplary officers proposed by the public from 27 January 2026. Around nine thousand names of exemplary officers were submitted by the public before the nomination process closed on 2 April 2026.
From the large number of submissions, the 2026 Hoegeng Awards organising committee carried out verification and initial selection. The names that passed the committee’s verification and selection were then forwarded to the 2026 Hoegeng Awards Board of Experts.
The 2026 Hoegeng Awards Board of Experts held a series of meetings before finally selecting the nominated candidates in each category. A public consultation was also held from Thursday, 7 May 2026 to Friday, 22 May 2026, during which detikcom gathered public feedback on the candidates.
The 2026 Hoegeng Awards have now concluded. After public nominations and a rigorous selection process, five exemplary officers were ultimately chosen as recipients of the 2026 Hoegeng Awards.
The list of 2026 Hoegeng Awards recipients is as follows:
Dedicated Police Officer: Commissioner Eko Budhi Purwono (Head of Community Relations, Riau Regional Police)
Innovative Police Officer: Brigadier Renita Rismayanti (Member of the International Relations Division of Polri)
Police Officer with Integrity: Commissioner Norul Hidayat (Head of the Police Academy, Bangka Belitung Regional Police)
Police Protector of Women, Children and Vulnerable Groups: First Inspector Siti Elminawati (Head of Unit 1, Sub-Directorate 4, Criminal Investigation Directorate, Central Sulawesi Regional Police)
Border and Remote Area Police Officer: Second Inspector Motalip Litiloly (Head of the Uniformed Patrol Unit, Nduga Police Resort, Papua Regional Police)
