PT Seelindo Sejahteratama (Zeelandia Indonesia) is committed to implementing sustainable business practices, particularly in the use of palm oil-based raw materials that meet global sustainability standards. The supplier of bakery ingredients for the Indonesian and Southeast Asian markets ensures that the palm oil used in its production process comes from a certified and monitored supply chain in accordance with RSPO standards. This monitoring covers all stages, from plantations, refining processes, and distribution, to the final product received by consumers. As a result, Zeelandia has become the first bakery ingredients company in Indonesia to independently obtain the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil Supply Chain Certification (RSPO SCC). President Director of Zeelandia Indonesia, Matthijs Wiggers, stated that this achievement is an important milestone for the company in integrating sustainability aspects throughout the business supply chain. “We not only focus on product quality, but also ensure that every process in the supply chain adheres to sustainability principles that are responsible towards the environment and society,” he said. In addition to being monitored through the international RSPO standard, Zeelandia Indonesia also implements a strict internal monitoring system to ensure all procedures run according to the company’s operational standards. The company conducts evaluations and management reviews regularly every six months to monitor system implementation and ensure reports and documentation comply with certification requirements. The process to obtain the RSPO SCC certification took about five months, from system preparation and implementation to the audit. Once the certification is obtained, a surveillance audit will be carried out periodically with a full certification cycle every five years. Zeelandia Indonesia currently has around 350 products marketed to various segments of the bakery and food industry. Of that number, around 150 products use palm oil-based raw materials sourced from RSPO-certified supply chains. One product that has used certified palm oil is Carlo, a pan release agent used to facilitate the release of bread and cakes from moulds without damaging the shape or quality of the product. This product helps improve production efficiency while maintaining the consistency of the final result in the modern bakery industry.
