The inaugural edition of Bakery ASEAN, a B2B exhibition specifically bringing together bakery industry players across the ASEAN region, will be held on 27–29 August 2026 at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), Indonesia. Bakery ASEAN is supported by Bakery China, the world’s largest bakery industry exhibition and one of the leading events in Asia Pacific with nearly 30 years of experience. Bakery ASEAN is organised by the China Association of Bakery & Confectionery Industry and Bakery China Exhibitions Co., Ltd.

Leveraging Bakery China’s reputation, extensive exhibitor network, and the buyer community built over many years, Bakery ASEAN is positioned strategically at the heart of the ASEAN region. The event will serve as an effective gateway for global industry players seeking to reach the Southeast Asian market and capitalise on collaboration opportunities along the industry chain.

More than 150 exhibitors from various countries will participate, including over 100 leading brands from China. They will introduce the latest products, technologies, and integrated solutions for the bakery industry and related food sectors.

“The inaugural edition of Bakery ASEAN will strengthen regional cooperation and unlock the significant potential of the bakery industry in Southeast Asia. Supported by Bakery China’s global reach and industry experience, we are committed to delivering a high-quality platform that drives trade, innovation, and knowledge transfer, and opens a new chapter for the development of the bakery industry in the ASEAN region,” said Zhang Jiukui, President of the China Association of Bakery & Confectionery Industry.

The arrival of Bakery ASEAN is viewed as a positive development for the bakery industry in ASEAN. The exhibition opens opportunities for industry players to expand their networks, grow their businesses, and explore new prospects in the Southeast Asian market.

According to Bakery China, the bakery industry in Southeast Asia is entering a phase of rapid growth. From 2023 to 2028, the regional market value is projected to increase from USD 10.89 billion to USD 14.99 billion, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.60%. Indonesia is one of the markets attracting attention. The Indonesian bakery market is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 8%, with its value projected to exceed Rp84.4 trillion by 2028. With a population of approximately 290 million and a median age of 32 years, Indonesia has a relatively young and dynamic consumer base that supports market growth.

From a trade perspective, Bakery ASEAN will bring together professional buyers from various ASEAN countries across diverse business channels, ranging from producers and manufacturers, distributors, retail chains, supermarkets, and hotels to the food service sector. Through targeted invitations and business matching sessions, the exhibition will connect participants with potential buyers from the ASEAN region to discuss business opportunities.

In addition to the exhibition, more than 10 supporting events will be held to enhance the visitor experience. The ASEAN Bakery Industry Forum will bring together industry leaders from various countries to discuss market developments and trends. A series of masterclasses led by world pastry champions and chefs from Michelin-starred restaurants will showcase high-level culinary techniques and expertise. Meanwhile, professional competitions, networking salons, and technical seminars will provide participants with opportunities to broaden their insights, build networks, and exchange experiences in technology and business.

As an annual event that brings together buyers and suppliers, showcases innovation, and fosters cross-border cooperation, Bakery ASEAN serves as an international trade platform for the bakery industry in the ASEAN region. The event also facilitates companies from various countries seeking to enter the Southeast Asian market, increase brand visibility, and develop regional and global business. At the same time, Bakery ASEAN aims to create long-term added value for the entire industry ecosystem.

Bakery industry practitioners from around the world can attend this event in Jakarta and become part of a new chapter in the development of the bakery industry in Southeast Asia.
