A bajaj driver, identified by the initials MGA (34), died after being struck by a minibus driven by a Chinese national, identified as QX (42), on Jalan Jembatan Batu, Tamansari, West Jakarta, in the early hours of Monday. The Head of the Law Enforcement Unit of the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police Traffic Unit, AKP Joko Siswanto, confirmed the traffic accident occurred at 00:24 WIB.

Joko stated that the accident involved two vehicles: a minibus with registration number B-2148-UJB and a bajaj with registration number B-4501-UZA. The incident began when the car driven by QX was travelling from the direction of the Pasar Pagi Flyover towards Mangga Dua on Jalan Jembatan Batu. Upon reaching the area near Kota Station in Tamansari, the car struck the bajaj, which was stationary on the left side of the road.

The collision caused severe injuries to the bajaj driver, including trauma to the head, abdomen, and legs. Although the victim was evacuated for medical assistance, he passed away while being transported to Husada Hospital. The body has since been moved to the Tangerang Regency Regional Hospital.

The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles, with the minibus suffering a dented and detached front-left bumper, while the bajaj sustained heavy damage to its rear-right body. The driver of the car is currently being held at the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police Headquarters for questioning. Authorities are still conducting a crime scene investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
