BAIC Indonesia Secures 407 Orders at GIIAS 2026, BJ30 HEV Tops Sales
BAIC Indonesia closed its participation at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 with 407 vehicle order forms (SPK). Over the 11-day exhibition, the BAIC booth was visited by nearly 20,000 people and recorded more than 500 test drive sessions.
The largest contribution came from the BAIC BJ30 HEV, which recorded 201 SPK, or nearly half of total orders. It was followed by the BAIC T1 with 139 SPK, the BAIC BJ40 with 51 units, and the BAIC X55 II with 16 units.
The achievement shows that hybrid SUVs remain a strong choice for BAIC consumers. The BJ30 HEV offers SUV characteristics with hybrid technology aimed at providing fuel efficiency without requiring external charging.
“The BJ30 HEV has begun to be very well received by Indonesian consumers,” said BAIC Indonesia Chief Operating Officer Dhani Yahya in a statement on Friday (14/8/2026).
Meanwhile, the BAIC T1, as BAIC’s first electric vehicle in Indonesia, also attracted considerable attention. The model immediately recorded 139 SPK since its introduction at GIIAS 2026.
Interest in the BAIC T1 was evident from the high number of visitors who tried the vehicle. Consumers responded positively to its design, spacious cabin, driving comfort, acceleration, and various technology features.
The T1’s achievement indicates that the market is beginning to make room for new electric vehicle options. The model’s presence also complements BAIC’s portfolio, which was previously dominated by conventional and hybrid engine vehicles.
Meanwhile, the BAIC BJ40 recorded 51 SPK during the exhibition. The SUV model remains a choice for consumers seeking a vehicle with rugged characteristics.
