Baic Indonesia Closes GIIAS 2026 Exhibition with 407 Vehicle Orders
Chinese automotive manufacturer BAIC, which participated in the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026, closed the exhibition with 407 vehicle order forms (SPK).
BAIC Indonesia Chief Operating Officer Dhani Yahya said the majority of the orders were for the BJ30 HEV hybrid model.
“The combination of a strong SUV character, performance and efficiency is what makes the BJ30 HEV increasingly relevant to the needs of Indonesian consumers today,” Dhani Yahya said in an official statement on Friday.
The dominance of the BAIC BJ30 HEV shows that the rugged SUV character remains the primary choice for Indonesian consumers when it comes to BAIC.
At the same time, however, the need for efficient vehicles is also growing.
Besides the BJ30 HEV, another vehicle that received a fairly positive response was the BAIC T1, which recorded 139 orders, along with the BAIC BJ40 with 51 units and the BAIC X55 II with 16 units.
Dhani added that the reception for the BAIC T1 was also a proud achievement.
As BAIC’s first electric vehicle in Indonesia, the T1 immediately succeeded in attracting consumer attention through a combination of modern design, a spacious cabin, smart technology and competitive value for money.
Responses from consumers who tried the BAIC T1 were positive and appreciative, particularly because they felt the product offers an attractive design, a comfortable and spacious cabin, responsive performance and acceleration, enjoyable handling and modern technology features.
The aspects most readily accepted by consumers were the exterior and interior design, driving comfort, a fun driving experience, and the completeness of features such as Parking Assist and EV technology.
