BAIC FOTON Showcases Product Strength at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026
Hannover, Germany, (ANTARA/PRNewswire) - BAIC FOTON showcased seven vehicles and six key components at the IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026 event, covering vehicles for long-distance haulage, urban logistics, public transport, and specialised operational needs. In Hall 21, the company demonstrated a combination of electrified powertrain systems, intelligent vehicle technology, and internally developed components designed to meet diverse commercial transport needs in the global market.
CAVAN BEACON Takes the Spotlight with Advanced Technology
The CAVAN BEACON was one of the primary products featured in the exhibition. This battery-electric heavy-duty truck utilises a specialised platform that also supports hydrogen configurations in both gaseous and liquid forms. An 800V electrical system is paired with megawatt charging technology, which can add approximately 100 km of range in just six minutes under certain conditions. The “1+3+2” VDCU architecture integrates seven cameras, five radars, and one LiDAR sensor to support 22 driver assistance functions across 114 operational scenarios. This technology enhances charging efficiency, vehicle control, driver comfort, and operational safety during long-distance journeys.
Products for Diverse Operational Needs
The product lineup extends these capabilities across various vehicle categories. The GALAXUS R9 PHEV combines a specialised hybrid engine with a transmission offering up to 99.8% efficiency, supported by over 20 control modules and more than 80 vehicle control strategies. For urban logistics, the battery-electric DAYSTAR offers a maximum range of up to 600 km, while the CAVAN C1 meets last-mile distribution requirements. The eGALAXUS D3 is suitable for sanitation work involving intensive stop-and-go activities, whereas the eAURORA bus supports charging up to 400 kW. For customers requiring greater flexibility, the TUNLAND V9 PHEV pickup produces a combined power of 350 kW and 800 Nm of torque, with a combined range of up to 1,000 km. BAIC FOTON also displayed batteries, electric drive axles, electronic control systems, and megawatt charging devices. Together, these demonstrate BAIC FOTON’s approach to developing vehicles and their supporting technologies as a single integrated ecosystem.
International Recognition Paves the Way for BAIC FOTON’s Expansion
The exhibition also reflects BAIC FOTON’s progress in the international market. The CAVAN C1 and eAURORA have obtained full authorisation from the European Union, while the GALAXUS R9 has completed testing in Spain before becoming the 13 millionth vehicle delivered by BAIC FOTON to various countries worldwide. With products now marketed in over 140 countries and territories, BAIC FOTON continues to adapt its portfolio to regulations, operational conditions, and customer needs in every market.
