BAIC Indonesia is presenting four vehicle models at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) Semarang 2026, held at the Muladi Dome, Semarang, from 30 September to 4 October 2026.

PT JIO Distribusi Indonesia, the official distributor of BAIC in Indonesia, is bringing the BAIC T1, BJ30 HEV, X55 II, and BJ40 Plus to the automotive exhibition. This participation is part of the company’s efforts to expand its market reach in Central Java.

One of the models introduced to the people of Semarang is the BAIC T1. This battery electric vehicle (BEV) is priced at Rp379 million during the exhibition, reduced from its normal price of Rp399 million.

Chief Operating Officer of BAIC Indonesia, Dhani Yahya, stated that Central Java is considered one of the vital regions for BAIC’s business development in Indonesia. According to him, presence at GIIAS Semarang provides an opportunity to introduce the company’s products and services to consumers in the region.

“Central Java is one of the important regions for BAIC’s growth. Through GIIAS Semarang, we want to provide an opportunity for the public to get to know BAIC products more closely,” Dhani said in an official statement on Wednesday (30/9/2026).

The BAIC T1 features an electric vehicle concept with a focus on cabin space, technology, and comfort. Offered features include Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) Level 2, Automatic Parking Assist, and a panoramic sky roof.

In addition to the T1, BAIC is showcasing the BJ30 HEV, which utilises hybrid technology. This model is offered starting from Rp479 million during the exhibition, compared to its normal price of Rp539 million.

BAIC is also bringing the X55 II, an SUV priced from Rp309 million, down from its normal price of Rp400 million. Meanwhile, the BJ40 Plus, a 4x4 SUV, is priced at Rp672 million, reduced from its normal price of Rp732 million.

During GIIAS Semarang 2026, BAIC is also providing several sales programmes, including discounts of up to Rp91 million and a two-month instalment holiday. Specifically for the T1, additional accessories such as a dash cam and a portable charger are included.

Dhani noted that the development of electric vehicles is a key focus for the company, particularly regarding the ease of access to charging devices for consumers.

“We understand that one of the considerations for consumers when purchasing an electric vehicle is the charging ecosystem,” he said.

The BAIC T1 previously received the ‘Most Favourite Car’ award in the Passenger Car Hatchback category at GIIAS Bandung 2026. This model is the first battery electric vehicle from BAIC to be marketed in Indonesia.

BAIC began entering the Indonesian market through PT JIO Distribusi Indonesia in May 2024. The company has since introduced several vehicle models, including SUVs and electrified vehicles, to the domestic market.
