BAIC Aims for 200 Percent Rise in Sales in 2026
Tangerang — Chinese automotive manufacturer BAIC has set an aggressive growth target for the Indonesian market in 2026. After recording a significant rise in sales in 2025, the company aims to more than double its sales that year. BAIC Indonesia’s Chief Operating Officer, Dhani Yahya, said the company has prepared a range of strategies to reach the target, from expanding the dealer network to launching new models, including electric vehicles. The target represents a major leap from previous sales achievements. In 2024, BAIC recorded retail sales of 198 units. That figure rose to 677 units in 2025, indicating early growth before more aggressive expansion in 2026. “We will add 10 more dealers to our network. Third, we will also have new products from Arcfox T1 and BAIC X1. So we will have electric cars that we will launch,” Dhani said. In addition to strengthening the network and products, the company is preparing a more aggressive marketing strategy in major cities, and evaluating operational efficiency to remain competitive amid intensifying competition. “So there is fast-track capability to build the organisational structure and dealer KPIs, leadership focus, and ensuring KPI achievement,” he said. Dhani added that strengthening human resources also remains a primary focus for the year. “We continue to grow well on the AP TM side, as well as with the manufacturer and dealers, and place the right people in the right positions,” he said. With the network expansion strategy, new product launches including electric vehicles, and stronger organisation, BAIC is confident it can increase its penetration of the national automotive market throughout 2026.
