Bahrain Desalination Plant Damaged by Iranian Drone Attack
Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior said Iran’s drone attack damaged the water desalination plant. Several residents were also injured when debris from Iranian missiles fell in Bahrain. ‘Iran’s indiscriminate aggression bombarding civilian targets and causing material damage to the water desalination plant after the drone attack,’ the Bahrain Ministry of Interior said in a statement, cited by AFP on Sunday, 8 March 2026. The attack was carried out by Iran after Tehran had previously accused the US of striking one of its own desalination plants from bases in Bahrain. Separately, Bahrain also reported that three people were injured by falling debris from Iranian missiles. The debris damaged a university building in the Muharraq island area, northwest of Manama. ‘As a result of Iran’s blatant aggression, three people were injured and material damage occurred to a university building in the Muharraq island area after missile fragments fell,’ the ministry said in a statement.
