Bahlil's Remarks on Diesel Fuel Prices at Private Petrol Stations Reaching Rp 30,000

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, has spoken out regarding the increase in diesel fuel prices at several private petrol stations, which have reached up to Rp 30,000 per litre.

Bahlil explained that fuel for the affluent is indeed subject to ongoing adjustments based on market prices.

“For fuels that are industrial in nature or only for those who can afford it, the adjustments are based on market prices, and in accordance with the 2022 Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation,” Bahlil stated at the Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (5/5/2026).

“I say that for subsidised oil, whether petrol, diesel, or LPG, there will be no increase. I say there will be no increase,” he added.

Previously, non-subsidised fuel prices at several petrol stations underwent changes again at the beginning of May 2026.

After being relatively stable beforehand, the fuel price increase now affects diesel products at Vivo and BP stations.

Vivo stations have officially raised the price of solar fuel, namely Diesel Primus Plus, to Rp 30,890 per litre as of 1 May 2026.

This means a surge of Rp 16,280 per litre over a two-month period.

Meanwhile, other Vivo fuel prices remain unchanged.

Revvo 92 stays at Rp 12,390 per litre and Revvo 95 holds at Rp 12,930 per litre.

An increase has also occurred at BP stations, particularly for the BP Ultimate Diesel product, now priced at Rp 30,890 per litre.

This price has jumped from the previous Rp 25,560 per litre.

Other BP fuel prices remain unchanged.

BP 92 stays at Rp 12,390 per litre and BP Ultimate at Rp 12,930 per litre.
