Bahlil urges Golkar Aceh to strengthen consolidation to increase legislative seats

Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia has urged the management of the Golkar Party in Aceh to strengthen organisational consolidation in order to increase the number of legislative seats won in upcoming elections. Bahlil made the statement while inaugurating the Golkar Party’s Aceh Regional Executive Board (DPD I) for the 2025-2030 period, led by M. Salim Fakhri, in Banda Aceh on Saturday. “In the context of increasing seats, we have determined that consolidation is the most important instrument for achieving seat gains. The regional conference and inauguration are part of this consolidation,” he said. He congratulated M. Salim Fakhri and the approximately 180 officials who were inaugurated as the board of DPD I Golkar Aceh. He stated that consolidation is the main key to a political party’s success. Bahlil admitted to having read a book which stated that the most important factor in a political party’s success is consolidation. “Therefore, I ask the provincial board to immediately hold regional conferences at the district, city, sub-district, and village levels,” he said. He noted that the current conditions impact economic stability and the energy sector, so the Golkar Party must be at the forefront of supporting government programmes, including those of the Aceh Government. “I ask Golkar Aceh to work together with the Governor to continue Aceh’s development. If there are shortcomings, they should be discussed properly,” he said. Meanwhile, Chairman of DPD I Golkar Aceh M. Salim Fakhri said that Golkar Aceh currently has 88 members in district and city legislative councils, members in the Aceh House of Representatives, and three members in the national House of Representatives. He is optimistic that Golkar Party’s seat count from Aceh will increase in the next election. “We are not making grand claims. God willing, we will increase them. We will prove it later, especially if we can unite with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum,” said Salim.
