JAKARTA - Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia has urged authorities to thoroughly investigate the stabbing case that resulted in the death of Nus Kei, the Chairman of the Golkar Southeast Maluku Regional Leadership Council (DPD). Bahlil stated that he has instructed the party’s Secretary General, Sarmuji, to monitor the case. “The Golkar Central Executive Board has asked the Secretary General to provide support in order to ensure the process is completed thoroughly,” Bahlil said when met at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Monday (20/4/2026). “The Golkar Central Executive Board has demanded that this be investigated thoroughly,” he emphasised. Meanwhile, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources offered his condolences over Nus Kei’s death. “We extend our deepest sympathies for the passing of the Chairman of the Golkar Southeast Maluku DPD, my brother Bang Nus. May he be accepted by Allah SWT,” Bahlil concluded. Nus Kei was en route to attend the Golkar congress. Upon arriving at the airport exit to meet his family, Nus Kei was immediately stabbed by an unknown individual (OTK). The perpetrator was a man wearing a red jacket and a mask. However, the assailant resisted and fled. Afterwards, Nus Kei managed to run back into the airport but collapsed and received initial aid from on-site personnel. He was then rushed to Karel Sadsuitubun Hospital for medical treatment. Tragically, the victim was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital due to severe bleeding and wounds to vital organs.
