JAKARTA – Golkar Party Chairman and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, stated that Indonesia has successfully navigated the LPG crisis. “Alhamdulillah, thanks to the team’s efforts and good communication, I am pleased to report that our crisis period is over. The LPG crisis was actually yesterday. I am stating this honestly,” Bahlil said at the Golkar Party Central Executive Board building on Jl Anggrek Neli Murni, Slipi, West Jakarta, on Wednesday evening (8/4/2026). In the energy sector, Bahlil revealed that the government has endured challenging times regarding the energy crisis, particularly LPG. He noted that the current supply situation has become increasingly stable. “Specifically in ESDM, ladies and gentlemen, there have indeed been intense debates and extraordinary discussions on how we can resolve the energy crisis issue,” he said. “I am appreciating the performance of the DPP Golkar Party executives and, more specifically, the Golkar Party Faction colleagues, whom I see have improved significantly, with communication that is already good,” Bahlil stated. He also stressed the importance of parliament’s role in overseeing government performance, including ministers from both Golkar and non-Golkar parties. According to him, oversight is part of parliament’s independence in ensuring that policy directions remain aligned with the guidance of the President and Vice President. “And I suggest to fellow ministers, whether Golkar ministers or non-Golkar ministers, who work not in line with the directives of the President and Vice President,” he explained. “I think it is appropriate and fitting to provide input, of course, in good ways, in ways that reflect Golkar Party culture,” he said. “Because this is part of the oversight function and part of parliament’s independence in conducting oversight, correcting, and straightening the government’s policy directions, particularly the work of the ministers,” he clarified.
