Surabaya (ANTARA) — Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia cracked a joke and invited East Java Deputy Governor Emil Elestianto Dardak to join the banyan tree-symbolized party while attending the inauguration of Golkar regional chapter boards across East Java in Surabaya on Sunday.

"So, Mr. Deputy Governor, are you starting to sway? I can see you're starting to sway. If your heart is already feeling comfortable, well, that's fine too," Bahlil said, drawing laughter from the thousands of cadres in attendance.

Deputy Governor Emil, who also serves as Chairman of the Democratic Party's East Java Regional Chapter, attended on behalf of East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa. This is not the first time Bahlil has directed such a playful remark at Emil.

In his speech at the inauguration of Golkar regional chapter boards across East Java at Jatim Expo Surabaya, Bahlil touched on Golkar's good relations with several parties, including NasDem, Hanura, Gerindra, and the Democratic Party.

"If cadres go to other parties, they haven't moved—they've just temporarily migrated. If they miss home, please come back. We're one house, just different rooms," Bahlil said.

Bahlil added that Golkar continues to strengthen organizational consolidation down to the regency and city levels. He said structural solidity is the key to facing future political agendas.

In addition to provincial and regional officials, the inauguration was attended by approximately three thousand cadres. The event was also witnessed by representatives of political party leaders at the East Java level.

The inauguration of Golkar regional chapter boards across East Java is expected to strengthen the party's internal solidarity while enhancing readiness to face political dynamics at both the regional and national levels.
