Bahlil Tasks Golkar Secretary-General to Monitor Nus Kei Murder Case
Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia has stated that he has tasked the party’s secretary-general, Muhammad Sarmuji, with monitoring the stabbing case that resulted in the death of Southeast Maluku Golkar DPD II Chairman Agrapinus Rumatora, alias Nus Kei, on Sunday (19 April).
“The Golkar DPP has been instructed by me to ask the Secretary-General to accompany the process until it is fully resolved,” Bahlil said at the parliamentary complex while attending the launch of Sarmuji’s book on Monday (20 April).
Bahlil expressed condolences for the incident and has left the legal process entirely to the police authorities until completion.
“We leave it to the law enforcement authorities, but the Golkar DPP has requested that this be investigated thoroughly and resolved carefully,” Bahlil stated.
Golkar Party Deputy Chairman Ahmad Doli Kurnia expressed shock and regret over the attack on his party’s cadre. Doli hopes the case is not related to party issues.
He also cautioned his cadres in Southeast Maluku to exercise restraint and not be provoked by emotions.
“I hope that all levels of the Golkar Party, especially in Southeast Maluku, can remain in control, not be provoked by emotions, and help to cool the situation while monitoring the legal process to proceed as best as possible,” Doli said.
The stabbing incident involving Nus Kei occurred in the airport area in Kei Kecil Subdistrict on Sunday (19 April) around 11:25 WIT. At the time, Nus Kei had just arrived after a flight from Jakarta.
Maluku Police Public Relations Head Commissioner Rositah Umasugi stated that the attack on Nus Kei was triggered by revenge over a clash incident in 2023 in Bekasi.
At that time, Nus Kei’s group of six people approached the location carrying sharp weapons. Upon learning of this, John Kei’s group then armed themselves with sharp weapons and firearms.
In that attack, a man with initials GR (44), from Nus Kei’s group, died. The attack itself was revenge for an assault by John Kei’s group in 2020 in Tangerang.
“The perpetrators’ motive is revenge. The two perpetrators seek revenge because the victim Nus Kei was the mastermind behind the murder of their brother named Fenansius Wadanubun alias Dani Holat,” Rositah said.
