JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia has spoken out regarding the latest developments in global crude oil prices, which have reached US$115 per barrel, and their impact on national fuel oil (BBM) prices, particularly subsidised ones.

Currently, subsidised BBM includes Pertalite at Rp 10,000 per litre and Biosolar at Rp 6,800 per litre.

Bahlil stated that domestic BBM prices remain stable at present. He also assured that President Prabowo Subianto continues to strive to maintain the economic conditions of the lower strata of society amid global turbulence.

“The price has now reached US$115. Domestically, it is still stable. Insha Allah, following the President’s instructions for subsidised BBM up to now, I think the President has a heart for paying attention to the little people,” Bahlil said, quoted from the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube, Tuesday (31/3/2026).

According to him, the President also continues to monitor the needs of the lower strata of society amid the national development agenda. He emphasised that the subsidy policy remains a government priority.

“Have faith, wait for the decision date, the President will decide what is best for the people, the nation, and the country,” he said.

“Our President thinks every day about how to develop the country, but also how to pay attention to the needs and conditions of our people at the bottom,” Bahlil continued.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Oil and Gas (Migas) at the Ministry of ESDM, Laode Sulaeman, emphasised that the stability of subsidised BBM prices is a government priority amid current global oil supply and price fluctuations.

According to him, Pertalite and Biosolar will not experience price increases, unlike non-subsidised BBM, which follows market mechanisms.

“For non-subsidised BBM, we’ll wait until 1 April. The important thing is that there will be no increase for subsidised BBM,” Laode told Kompas.com on Monday (30/3/2026).
