Bahlil States Indonesia's Fuel Reserves Exceed National Minimum Standards
JAKARTA - The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, stated that Indonesia’s energy reserves are in a safe condition, exceeding the national minimum standards. These reserves include petroleum fuels (BBM) such as petrol, diesel, and avtur, as well as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). “All our BBM reserves are above the national minimum standards, including diesel and petrol, as well as gas, avtur, and LPG,” Bahlil said during an online press conference from Seoul, South Korea, on Tuesday (31/3/2026). This comes as the Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP) in Balikpapan begins operations, increasing the refinery’s production capacity from 260,000 barrels per day to 360,000 barrels per day. “This is good news now that the RDMP in East Kalimantan is operational,” he added. “Even though we all know that geopolitical tensions persist with an uncertain end, and some other countries have implemented various policies for national efficiency, we are grateful to Allah for the guidance and direction from the President; all our BBM reserves are above the national minimum standards,” Bahlil stated.
