Bahlil Speaks Out on Cabinet Reshuffle

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, has spoken out regarding the recent cabinet reshuffle, particularly concerning the replacement of the Finance Minister, where Suahasil Nazara has succeeded Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.

Bahlil emphasised that the matter of a reshuffle is the prerogative right of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto.

“Regarding the reshuffle, it is the prerogative right of the President. Every minister, every deputy minister, and every member of the cabinet who is appointed or dismissed—we must respect the President’s prerogative right,” Bahlil explained at the DPR Building on Wednesday (16/09/2026).

As is widely known, President Prabowo has officially inaugurated Suahasil Nazara as the Finance Minister. Suahasil replaces Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, who had held the position since 8 September 2025.
