Bahlil Reveals Outcomes of Meeting with Prabowo Yesterday Evening
Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia has disclosed details of his meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Monday evening (9 March 2026), where the energy sector was among the topics discussed.
Bahlil stated that, as Energy and Mineral Resources Minister, he participated in discussing the state of Indonesia’s national energy sector during the meeting. This was particularly important amid global geopolitical dynamics that have impacted rising crude oil prices worldwide.
“We are attempting to identify various measured steps in addressing the geopolitical dynamics that affect rising crude oil prices globally,” Bahlil said at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry in Jakarta on Tuesday (10 March 2026).
President Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with several ministers from his Red and White Cabinet at Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Monday (9 March 2026). The meeting was convened to discuss national strategic measures and preparations ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
According to the official Instagram account of the Cabinet Secretariat on Tuesday (10 March 2026), attendees included Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, Agriculture Minister Amran Sulaiman, and Marine and Fisheries Minister Sakti Wahyu Trenggono.
Also present were Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Minister and Head of the National Land Agency Nusron Wahid, Higher Education, Science and Technology Minister Brian Yuliarto, Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Armed Forces Commander General Agus Subiyanto, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
This strategic meeting focused on two main government agendas. The first was evaluating the progress of the food and energy self-sufficiency programmes, as well as oil self-sufficiency initiatives. The second agenda was ensuring food and LPG supply availability ahead of Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
