Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia has recorded the investment value for the Abadi Masela LNG project at approximately USD21 billion, or around Rp342 trillion, including an additional USD1 billion for carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology. Speaking at the project’s groundbreaking ceremony in Tanimbar, Maluku, Bahlil stated that the project is planned to produce 9.5 million tonnes of LNG per year, along with 35,000 barrels of condensate per day and 150 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day. He noted that a minimum of 60 per cent of the gas will be allocated to meet domestic needs, with a maximum of 40 per cent for export. Bahlil highlighted the project’s role in strengthening national energy security through cleaner and more sustainable energy supply. The construction phase alone is expected to absorb approximately 12,000 workers.
