Bahlil Orders Golkar Cadres to Support Prabowo's Programmes

JAKARTA — The chairman of the Golkar Party’s Central Board, Mukhamad Misbakhun, revealed that Golkar Party chairman Bahlil Lahadalia has requested party cadres to defend and ensure the success of President Prabowo Subianto’s government programmes.

“Pak Bahlil has asked Golkar cadres to defend President Prabowo’s programmes, ensure the success of the government’s strategic initiatives, and this also applies to every Golkar cadre at regency and city levels,” Misbakhun said in a press statement on Monday, 9 March 2026.

Misbakhun also noted that Bahlil wishes Golkar cadres to remain humble despite the party being the largest in the government coalition.

“Golkar is the largest party in the coalition (supporting Prabowo’s administration), but Pak Bahlil is always humble. Golkar is known for its systems. Many great figures have come from Golkar. Remember, there is no cadre greater than the party,” Misbakhun said.

Misbakhun emphasised that Golkar is an open party for all those who wish to serve through the political channel, particularly ahead of the upcoming 2029 general election.

“With Golkar’s current position, many wish to join. Golkar is open to anyone who wishes to contribute their political service, but consolidation and unity must be strengthened from the start because that is the key,” Misbakhun said.

The Commission XI member of parliament also conveyed Bahlil’s message regarding efforts to strengthen Golkar through recruitment of potential candidates.

“The recruitment of strong figures must be carried out, and incumbent officeholders should also engage directly with the community,” Misbakhun said, quoting Bahlil.
