Bahlil on Pertamax Price Hike: It Adjusts to the Market

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia has stated that the current increase in Pertamax prices is in accordance with prevailing market price calculations. He emphasised that the government has not yet raised the price of subsidised fuel. “First of all, I want to say that the prices of subsidised fuel and LPG have not changed at all,” Bahlil said on Thursday. “Meanwhile, the prices of non-subsidised fuels adjust to existing market prices, and of course the calculations are carried out wisely by business entities, both Pertamina and other business entities,” he added. The government is currently formulating several measures to maintain public purchasing power, although he confirmed that no incentives have yet been provided due to the impact of the non-subsidised fuel price increases. “The government is working on measures to protect purchasing power. That is why, in order to protect purchasing power, we have not raised the prices of subsidised fuel and LPG,” he added. Previously, Pertamina adjusted the prices for non-subsidised fuels Pertamax (RON 92) and Pertamax Green (RON 95) starting from 10 June 2026. President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Simon Aloysius Mantiri acknowledged that every fuel price adjustment attracts public attention. Nevertheless, he confirmed that the adjustment of non-subsidised fuel prices was made by considering global geopolitical dynamics and international crude oil prices, while still taking public purchasing power into account. He also stated that this adjustment is being implemented not only at Pertamina petrol stations but also by other private business entity stations. “Amidst evolving global challenges, Pertamina, with the full support of the Government, remains committed to ensuring energy availability for communities throughout Indonesia,” he explained in an official company video. The list of fuel prices at Pertamina stations, effective from 10 June 2026, includes: Subsidised Solar at Rp 6,800 per litre, unchanged; Pertalite at Rp 10,000 per litre, unchanged; Pertamax (RON 92) at Rp 16,250 per litre, up from Rp 12,300; Pertamax Green 95 at Rp 17,000 per litre, up from Rp 12,900; Pertamax Turbo at Rp 20,750 per litre, unchanged; Dexlite at Rp 23,000 per litre, unchanged; and Pertamina DEX at Rp 24,800 per litre, unchanged.
