Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia stated that the price of non-subsidised LPG, which has just increased, has the potential to decrease again following global price movements. The increase, effective since Saturday, 18 April 2026, was set based on international prices while considering economic aspects. “So there is a formula for it. Previously, it referred to the Saudi Aramco reference price. Going forward, if global prices decrease, domestic prices will also follow suit,” Bahlil said after a press conference at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources office on Monday, 20 April 2026. On the other hand, Bahlil assured that the price of 3kg subsidised LPG will not rise. He also mentioned that the current stock of subsidised LPG is above the national minimum threshold. “Specifically for subsidised LPG, our stock is above the national minimum standard and there is no price increase,” he stated. He also dismissed concerns about LPG shortages. Currently, Bahlil said, the reserve stock of LPG is above 10 days or exceeds the national minimum threshold. Previously, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga raised the price of 12kg non-subsidised LPG from Rp192,000 to Rp228,000 per cylinder, an increase of around 18.75%. This adjustment is the first since 2023 and took effect on 18 April 2026. The price increase also applied to 5.5kg non-subsidised LPG, from Rp90,000 to Rp107,000 per cylinder, an increase of around 18.89%. These prices apply in areas such as Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, and West Nusa Tenggara, with adjustments in other regions following distribution costs.
