Bahlil: No Increase in Subsidised Fuel and LPG Prices!

The government has confirmed there will be no increase in the price of subsidised fuel and gas. The decision was taken whilst geopolitical turmoil in the Middle East has yet to fully subside, triggering fluctuations in global crude oil prices. “We can confirm that there is no increase in the price of subsidised fuel, in accordance with what has been decided currently. So there is no increase for subsidised fuel, including subsidised LPG,” Bahlil said at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (28/7/2026). Additionally, Bahlil confirmed that Indonesia’s fuel stocks are above the minimum standard. “We report that our fuel and crude stocks, God willing, are above the national minimum standard, including the LPG condition,” Bahlil stated. Global crude oil prices have experienced volatility this year. Having previously surged to over US$100 per barrel and fallen to the US$70s per barrel, crude oil prices touched US$96.78 per barrel again on 24 July. This morning, based on Refinitiv data at 09.05 WIB, the price of Brent was at US$87.86 per barrel, down 0.57% from the previous close of US$88.36 per barrel. Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) fell 0.77% to US$81.97 per barrel from US$82.61 per barrel.
