Bahlil Meets with Pertamina and Private Sector to Discuss Non-Subsidised Fuel Prices
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia has affirmed that the government is discussing prices for non-subsidised fuel oil (BBM) with PT Pertamina (Persero) and private enterprises. “Regarding non-subsidised fuel prices, we are currently conducting discussions. These discussions naturally involve other private entities as well, and up to now, we are arranging and seeking a good and wise formulation,” Bahlil explained when met at the Ministry of ESDM office on Monday (6/4/2026). For context, in April 2026, the government has decided not to raise fuel prices, including non-subsidised ones, which would normally follow global crude oil trends. Not only Pertamina’s fuel stations but also private ones are holding their selling prices. Unfortunately, Minister Bahlil could not yet confirm when the discussions will conclude. However, he promised to announce the results of the non-subsidised fuel price discussions. “Wait until it’s finished, I will inform you. Clearly, the government very much understands the current conditions of the community in the midst of society. Both for subsidised and non-subsidised,” Bahlil stressed.
