Bahlil Lahadalia: Golkar Supports Prabowo Administration Until Completion
Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia has emphasised support for the administration of Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka until its completion. He made the statement whilst inaugurating the Golkar Aceh Regional Executive Board. Initially, Bahlil reminded the executives that Golkar has two major agendas ahead. He therefore urged the newly inaugurated board to embrace all party forces, both senior and junior, without discriminating based on background. “I am pleased today to inaugurate Bang Salim Fakhry as chairman of the Golkar Regional Executive Board and the executives,” Bahlil said during the inauguration at the Hermes Palace Hotel, Banda Aceh, on Saturday. The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources explained that the banyan tree party was born from the people of various backgrounds. “From farmers, fishermen, teachers, labourers, retired TNI-Polri personnel, and because of that, it becomes part of the party’s great strength which we will try to cooperate well with,” he said. “The goal is only one. How can we realise the proclamation’s ideals of national welfare, of granting equal rights, and how we all fight for what is good for the people, nation and state,” Bahlil continued. The two major agendas for the Golkar Party are to increase its number of seats and to support the administration of Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka until completion. “When is it completed? Ask Mr President Prabowo,” Bahlil clarified. In front of the 180 executives inaugurated as the Golkar Party Aceh Regional Board I, Bahlil also requested the ranks to strengthen organisational consolidation to increase legislative seat acquisition in the upcoming elections. “In the context of increasing seats, we have determined that consolidation is the most important instrument for adding seats. Regional conferences and inaugurations are part of consolidation,” he said. He stated that consolidation is the main key to a political party’s success. Bahlil admitted he once read a book stating that the most important factor for a political party’s success is consolidation. “Therefore, I ask the provincial board to immediately hold regional conferences at the district/city, sub-district, and village levels after this,” he said. Besides organisational strengthening, Bahlil also touched on the global geopolitical situation, which he assessed remains unstable due to tensions in the Middle East. According to him, this condition impacts economic stability and the energy sector, so the Golkar Party must be at the forefront of supporting government programmes, including the Aceh Government. “I ask Golkar Aceh to work together with the Governor to continue Aceh’s development. If there are shortcomings, discuss them properly,” he said. Meanwhile, Golkar Party Aceh Regional Board Chairman I M. Salim Fakhri said Golkar Aceh currently has 88 district/city DPRD members, Aceh DPR members, and three DPR RI members. He is optimistic that Golkar Party’s seat acquisition from Aceh will increase in the upcoming elections. “We are not making grand claims. God willing, we will add more. We will prove it later, especially if we can unite with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum,” Salim said.
