Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Minister Bahlil Lahadalia has inaugurated four new officials within the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Bahlil advised the newly appointed officials to ensure that the direction of state policy is able to deliver tangible economic benefits to the wider community.

The officials inaugurated include the Head of the Geological Agency, the Head of the Aceh Oil and Gas Management Agency (BPMA), the Head of the Oil and Gas Testing Centre (Lemigas), and the Expert Staff to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources for Institutional Relations.

“Today we carried out an inauguration within the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The first is the Head of the Geological Agency, because we believe the Geological Agency is very important as it is the initial source of data concerning our natural resource wealth, both in minerals, coal and the oil and gas sector,” Bahlil explained.

More specifically, the inauguration of the Expert Staff to the Minister for Institutional Relations is expected to ensure that every ministry decision has undergone a public impact assessment.

“Secondly, I also inaugurated an expert staff in the economic field because it is very important that the direction of state policy through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is properly assessed for its direct economic impact on the people,” he added.

The new Head of Lemigas has been directed to increase work productivity and tighten quality supervision in every procurement process for crude oil and LPG.

Bahlil stressed that internal consolidation must be carried out immediately so that the established performance targets can be achieved on schedule.

“Lemigas has received a mandate from the government, under the direction of the President, to carry out oil and gas procurement, both crude and LPG, in the national interest. My direction earlier was to immediately increase Lemigas’ work productivity,” he explained.

For the Aceh region, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources inaugurated the Head of the Aceh Oil and Gas Management Agency (BPMA) with the task of optimising the natural resource potential in the special autonomy region.

He asked BPMA to focus on accelerating operations at the Andaman Block in Aceh waters to boost oil and gas production figures in the northern Sumatra region.

“And the fourth is the Head of BPMA, BPMA Aceh. BPMA Aceh is like SKK Migas for Aceh, because it has special autonomy, so we provide special treatment. Increase lifting in Andaman and raise all sources of our oil blocks in the Aceh region,” he concluded.

The officials inaugurated are as follows:

  1. Lana Saria was inaugurated as Head of the Geological Agency. She previously served as Expert Staff to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources for Natural Resource Economics.

  2. Mawardi Nur was inaugurated as Head of the Aceh Oil and Gas Management Agency (BPMA).

  3. Muhammad Ikhsan Kiat became Head of the Oil and Gas Testing Centre (Lemigas).

  4. Tirta Nugraha Mursitama was inaugurated as Expert Staff to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources for Institutional Relations. He previously served as Expert Staff for Investment Equity and Partnership at the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM.
