Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia has assured that the national fuel oil (BBM) stock remains secure despite the heating global geopolitical situation, particularly due to conflicts in the Middle East region. This secure condition includes during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return travel flows in 2026.

This assurance was conveyed by Bahlil after directly inspecting the availability of BBM and services at the Bolon petrol station in Colomadu Subdistrict, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, on Thursday, 26 March 2026.

On that occasion, Bahlil explained that the government continues to intensively monitor energy distribution, including BBM and power plant operations, to ensure that public needs are met during the Eid homecoming and return travel period. He also stated that this measure is a direct instruction from President Prabowo Subianto for the government to be present in ensuring energy supply stability amid uncertain global conditions.

“We ensure the availability of BBM, both diesel and petrol, remains secure and runs well despite geopolitical dynamics,” Bahlil told reporters.

Furthermore, he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining supply, national energy reserves, and price stability so as not to be impacted by global fluctuations. According to him, although some countries are beginning to experience pressure due to the international situation, Indonesia is still able to maintain energy resilience well through a combination of domestic production and diversified imports.

In addition, the government is also continuously seeking alternative energy supply sources from various countries to reduce dependence on certain regions. These efforts are carried out alongside the optimisation of domestic refineries so that the national energy supply becomes stronger and more sustainable.

“Our current oil reserves are secure, with a minimum stock of around 21 days and continuously updated periodically,” he said.

Bahlil also reminded that the global geopolitical situation is difficult to predict and can change at any time. Therefore, he invited the public to use energy wisely as part of collective efforts to maintain national energy resilience.

He also added that efficient energy consumption at the household level would greatly help maintain supply stability in the long term.

“The government hopes for public support to strengthen the efforts that have been made in maintaining energy availability throughout Indonesia,” he said.
