Jakarta – The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, has affirmed that the government will not increase the prices of subsidised fuel oil (BBM) until the end of 2026. This, he stated, aligns with instructions from President Prabowo Subianto. “I can say that we have agreed, based on the President’s directive, that subsidised fuel prices will not be raised until the end of the year, insha’Allah forever,” Bahlil told reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex in Central Jakarta on Thursday, 16 April 2026. Bahlil explained that stocks of fuel oil (BBM), including diesel, petrol, and LPG, are in a safe condition and above the minimum standards. “It’s safe; I assure the public that, insha’Allah, our stocks are above the minimum standard. Insha’Allah, it’s secure,” he clarified. Nevertheless, Bahlil stressed that this situation still depends on the movement of Indonesia’s crude oil price or Indonesian Crude Price (ICP). “This depends on the ICP price, but if it reaches $100, it’s still safe within the state budget. And the current average ICP from January until now is not more than $77,” he said. “So, we’ve only split $7 so far; don’t let there be any assumption about where our money comes from. We’ve only risen $7 until now, as I’m saying,” Bahlil concluded.
