Bahlil: Every Power Will Be Accountable on the Day of Judgment

JAKARTA — The General Chairman of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia, reminded Golkar cadres who hold executive and legislative posts to remain trustworthy in exercising power. He delivered the remarks during a speech at the Nuzulul Quran event titled ‘Membumikan Al-Quran, Menggapai Hidayah, Menyongsong Lailatul Qadar’ at the Golkar DPP Mosque in West Jakarta, on Friday, 6 March 2026. ‘So if Golkar cadres in the executive or legislative branches, this is not merely about seizing power; power entrusted must become rahmatan lil ’alamin,’ Bahlil said. He stated that the tenure of officials such as ministers and members of the House of Representatives will be accounted for before Allah SWT at Padang Mahsyar. He added that they would be asked how much benefit they had brought during their leadership in Indonesia. ‘Because every power, God willing, will become an instrument of devotion, and we will be held to account later at Yaumul Mahsyar when we return to the One Lord,’ he concluded.
