Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia has assured the availability of LPG, both subsidised and non-subsidised, remains secure amid the price increase for 12 kg LPG cylinders. Bahlil emphasised that current non-subsidised LPG stocks are above the national minimum standard. He also confirmed that 3 kg LPG prices will not rise. “Specifically for subsidised LPG, our stocks are above the national minimum standard. And there will be no price increase,” he stated during a press conference at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources office on Monday, 20 April 2026. For non-subsidised LPG, Bahlil Lahadalia explained that the price adjustment is influenced by global energy price movements. Nevertheless, he noted that prices could decrease again if the global trend reverses. He also dismissed concerns over LPG shortages. Currently, Bahlil said, LPG reserve stocks are above 10 days or exceed the national minimum threshold. Previously, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga raised the price of non-subsidised 12 kg LPG from Rp 192,000 to Rp 228,000 per cylinder, an increase of about 18.75 per cent. This adjustment is the first since 2023 and took effect on 18 April 2026. The price hike also applies to non-subsidised 5.5 kg LPG, from Rp 90,000 to Rp 107,000 per cylinder, an increase of about 18.89 per cent. These prices apply in regions such as Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, and West Nusa Tenggara, with adjustments in other areas following distribution costs.
