Bahlil Dispatches 20 Buses for Golkar Free Mudik to Indramayu and Solo
The Golkar Party organised a free mudik programme in 2026 for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijrah. Twenty buses were dispatched to destinations in Central Java, East Java, and West Java.
“This represents Golkar Party’s presence alongside the people in helping facilitate our brothers and sisters’ journey home to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families. We pray they arrive safely at their destinations and are able to gather with their families. I believe that is what needs to be said,” said Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia at the party’s central office in Slipi, West Jakarta, on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.
Bahlil stated that all mudik participants would receive food packages and pocket money. The travellers would return to Solo, Klaten, Yogyakarta, Madiun, Boyolali, Bantul, Magelang, Cirebon, and Indramayu.
“As someone from the countryside, celebrating Eid in Jakarta is important, but it is far more important when I return home to my village, and God willing, I too will mudik,” said Bahlil.
“That is the essence of mudik. It is wonderful, being able to eat with family, meeting childhood friends, seeing parents if they are still alive, and other friends. That is the meaning,” he added.
Bahlil stated that the second meaning of mudik concerns the economy. According to Bahlil, mudik can also drive local economic growth.
“The money is not spent in the provincial capital or the national capital; it is spent in the district capital, regency capital, and village capital, which ultimately creates a multiplier effect. That is also one of the things driving economic growth,” he said.
At the mudik dispatch event, Bahlil was accompanied by several Golkar elites, including Sarmuji, Meutya Hafid, Wihaji, Sari Yuliati, Mukhtarudin, Christina Aryani, Ace Hasan Syadzily, Kahar Muzakir, Dyah Roro Esti, and Widya Putri.
Before dispatching the travellers, Bahlil greeted them aboard the buses and prayed for their safe arrival home. Approximately 1,000 travellers were dispatched.
