Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia celebrated Eid al-Fitr 2026 in his hometown in Fakfak, West Papua. As a result, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources was absent from the Eid prayer and reception agenda at the Central Executive Board office of the Golkar Party in Slipi, West Jakarta.

Golkar Party Vice Chairman Ace Hasan Syadzily stated that national officials’ Lebaran celebrations do not always have to be in Jakarta. “By celebrating in Fakfak, he demonstrates that Eid al-Fitr can also be observed in a remote location in eastern Indonesia,” said Ace in Jakarta on Saturday, 21 March 2026.

The Governor of the National Resilience Institute replaced Bahlil in delivering remarks before the Eid prayer was held this morning at the Syajaratun Thayyibah Mosque at the Golkar office. According to Ace, Bahlil entrusted greetings to all Indonesian people enjoying the Lebaran holiday.

In addition to Ace, several Golkar politicians present in the Eid prayer lines included Chairman of the Golkar Party Ethics Council Muhammad Hatta; Head of the Golkar Party Research and Development Agency Yuddy Chrisnandi; and Chairman of DPR Commission XI Muhammad Misbakhun.

In his remarks, Ace Hasan invited Muslims to give thanks for being granted the blessing of performing the fast this year. Ace explained that although the Golkar Party is a nationalist party, the party symbolised by the banyan tree upholds spiritual values as a commitment to nationhood. “Especially amid the current global geopolitical situation that impacts our domestic conditions, we are all required to maintain control over various matters that could create unconducive situations,” he said.
