Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia has guaranteed that stocks of oil and LPG are above the national minimum standards set by the government. He conveyed this directly to President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday (12/5/2026). “Earlier, I reported to the President regarding the readiness of our fuel up to today, as well as LPG and crude (crude oil), all above the national minimum standard. So, insya Allah, there are no problems,” Bahlil explained, quoted from Kontan. Monitoring is being conducted to anticipate any potential disruptions. During the meeting with Prabowo, he also discussed mining business permits (IUP), particularly for operations in forest areas. “The President has instructed this about two months ago, if I’m not mistaken, to conduct an evaluation, and I reported the developments on that,” Bahlil explained. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is preparing a new formulation to balance the interests of the state and business actors. “After hearing input from the public and fellow entrepreneurs, I will hold off to build a good formulation that is mutually beneficial,” Bahlil explained. The new formulation is expected to be finalised and implemented by June 2026. “(Target June) we’re still considering it. Even if we have to find an ideal formulation, it shouldn’t harm entrepreneurs but also allow us to optimise state revenue,” he said.
