Palembang, South Sumatra — The Chairman of the Golkar Party, Bahliment Lahadalia, has affirmed that the Golkar Party will remain loyal in supporting the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka to execute programmes aimed at improving public welfare. Speaking during the XI Regional Consultative Meeting (Musda) of the Golkar Party South Sumatra Provincial DPD in Palembang on Sunday, Bahlil stated that supporting the Prabowo-Gibran government is a strategic political decision made by the party.

He noted that Golkar’s support is not limited to a specific timeframe but will continue alongside the administration. “If there are questions regarding how long we will remain together, ask President Prabowo himself. Golkar will always remain loyal to President Prabowo’s government,” he said. He added that Golkar holds a significant position in supporting the government’s operations, particularly in overseeing various programmes deemed beneficial to the community. This support also forms part of Golkar’s political stance in navigating national political dynamics.

In addition to affirming support for the government, the Golkar Party has set targets to increase its legislative seat count in the upcoming elections. “First and foremost, Golkar must increase its seats. Currently, we have 102; we must increase this beyond 102. In the provincial legislature, we currently have 11; this must rise above 12. The same applies to other regional legislatures; they must increase,” he stated.

Bahlil mentioned that strengthening the party structure and organisational consolidation are vital steps to achieving these targets. Consequently, he instructed all levels of the Golkar Party, including those in South Sumatra, to strengthen the party machinery down to the regency/city, sub-district, and village levels. “Following this regional meeting, I request the elected chairman to immediately carry out consolidation in regencies and cities, followed by sub-districts, and then villages,” he concluded.
