The government is committed to not raising subsidised fuel prices through 2026. Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia stated that the government is still discussing adjustments to the prices of general fuel types (JBU) or non-subsidised fuels. These discussions are being held with fuel trading companies. “The President has instructed me to create a good, ideal formulation for our people,” Bahlil said in a statement quoted on Tuesday (7/4). Meanwhile, to maintain public purchasing power, the government has decided not to adjust subsidised fuel prices. Prices for specific fuel types (JBT) and special assignment fuels (JBKP) will remain the same as current levels. In line with this, the government is also implementing energy efficiency through purchase limits, or restrictions on JBKP purchases (subsidised Pertalite) to a maximum of 50 litres per day per vehicle. This restriction applies to JBT purchases (subsidised diesel) for private cars, while there are no changes for public passenger and goods transport vehicles. The Energy Minister emphasised that the government remains committed to providing energy to the public amid ongoing global energy crisis pressures. Bahlil mentioned that various strategic steps have been taken to ensure stable energy supplies while maintaining the affordability of energy prices, particularly for subsidised fuels. “Going forward, the government will continue to direct energy policies to protect the public while safeguarding national resilience,” he concluded. Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa assured that subsidised fuel prices will not rise until the end of 2026. The government has ensured that subsidised fuel prices will not increase until Eid al-Fitr 2026, despite surging global oil prices due to conflicts in the Gulf. Stocks are confirmed to be secure. Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa responded to the rise in global crude oil prices, which have exceeded US$100 per barrel. PT Pertamina (Persero) has officially raised the price of Pertamax fuel to Rp12,300 per litre starting 1 March 2026. See the list of prices for Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite, and Pertalite.
