Bahlil: Adjustment of Non-Subsidised Fuel Prices in Second Phase to Follow Oil Prices

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia has stated that the subsequent adjustment of non-subsidised fuel (BBM) prices will be influenced by developments in global oil prices.

“(The price adjustment) for the next phase, we will see the adjustment. If the price drops, it won’t rise. But if the price remains like this, there will certainly be an adjustment,” Bahlil said after a press conference on the Discovery of Giant Gas in East Kalimantan held at the Ministry of ESDM office in Jakarta on Monday.

Bahlil noted that the first phase of price adjustment has already taken place.

As of 18 April 2026, Pertamina Patra Niaga has implemented new prices for non-subsidised BBM for Pertamax Turbo, Pertamina Dex, and Dexlite.

For now, the price of Pertamax (RON 92) BBM is still maintained at Rp12,300 per litre and Pertamax Green at Rp12,900 per litre.

Pertamina is also still maintaining the price of subsidised BBM type Pertalite at Rp10,000 per litre and Biosolar at Rp6,800 per litre.

“I said that for non-subsidised BBM, there is a price adjustment. What the state can guarantee, the government can guarantee, is subsidised BBM,” Bahlil stated.

The ministerial decree regulates the Basic Price Formula in the Calculation of Retail Selling Prices for General Fuel Oil Types of Petrol and Diesel Fuel Distributed Through Public Fuel Filling Stations.

“If the subsidised BBM price, up to an average ICP (Indonesian Crude Price) of $100, will not rise,” Bahlil said.

He explained that currently, the average ICP from 1 January to 20 April is approximately $76 per barrel.

Therefore, on that occasion, he emphasised that subsidised BBM prices such as Pertalite and Biosolar will not rise until the end of 2026.
