Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia accompanied the working visit to Moscow, Russian Federation, on Sunday (12/4/2026) evening. The main agenda focuses on strengthening strategic energy cooperation between the two countries.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Dwi Anggia stated that this visit is part of the continuation of the partnership between Indonesia and Russia. The focus is on supporting national energy resilience in the long term.

“This working visit is a continuation of the partnership between the two countries for Indonesia’s long-term national energy resilience,” said Dwi Anggia in Jakarta on Monday (13/4/2026).

The presence of the Energy and Mineral Resources Minister shows that the energy sector is a priority in the government’s agenda. This high-level meeting also opens opportunities for more concrete cooperation in the future.

President Prabowo is scheduled to meet directly with Russian President Vladimir Putin upon arrival in Moscow. Discussions will emphasise the continuation of energy cooperation, particularly to maintain national supply stability.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya emphasised that the government wants to ensure energy supplies remain stable, including oil.

“Continuing cooperation with the Russian government and ensuring stable national energy supplies, including oil availability,” said Teddy.

This step is taken amid global geopolitical dynamics that affect world energy supply and demand. The government is also promoting the strengthening of strategic partnerships to maintain stability.

During the visit, the two heads of state will also exchange views on global geopolitical developments. Indonesia reaffirms its commitment to maintaining world stability and peace.

President Prabowo and his entourage departed from Halim Perdanakusuma TNI AU Base, Jakarta, around 23:10 WIB using a Garuda Indonesia aircraft. Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya also accompanied him.

The journey to Moscow takes about 12 hours of nonstop flight. Upon arrival in Russia, the President is scheduled to hold a one-on-one meeting with President Vladimir Putin.
