Bag Stolen at Warung Makan Praz Teguh; Thief Goes Back and Forth Before Fleeing

Depok, Kompas.com - A bag containing valuables belonging to a woman identified by the initials T was stolen at Warung Taburai, Jalan Margonda Raya, Depok, on Tuesday night (3 March 2026). The incident was captured on CCTV and uploaded to the Instagram account of the restaurant’s owner, comedian Praz Teguh.

The first CCTV clip shows the inside of the restaurant, where all tables are occupied with customers eating. Shortly thereafter, the bag, which had been placed beside a chair, appears to be pulled backward toward the chair. The bag is suspected to have been pulled by someone behind the victim, but the thief’s position is blocked by a pillar in the video.

A second CCTV recording shows a man wearing batik clothing moving back and forth from inside the warung to the outside area several times. He initially exits toward the edge of Jalan Margonda Raya before returning while talking on his mobile phone. He then leaves the warung again, moving quickly, and appears to be carrying a bag.

Separately, head of public relations for the Depok Police, AKP Made Budi, said the theft occurred around 18:22 WIB. The victim, identified only as T, has reported the incident to the Depok Metro Police with the help of the Warung Taburai manager.

Preliminary investigations indicate the victim suffered losses including a brown backpack, one Acer laptop, an iPhone 13, a wallet, house keys, office access keys, and Rp 200,000 in cash. Police say investigations are ongoing after crime-scene checks and collecting statements from witnesses.
