Bag snatchers apprehended
DENPASAR, Bali: Police arrested on Monday four men believed to have snatched a handbag from a Japanese tourist.
Col. Togar M. Sianipar, chief detective of the Nusa Tenggara Police said the four men, who were in a rented jeep, grabbed the bag from 30-year-old Masayuko Iweno while she was taking an evening stroll around the Campuhan area in Ubud, Antara reported.
Togar said the thieves were using a rented jeep when they grabbed her black handbag, which contained Rp 600,000 ($275) in cash, a camera, credit cards and traveler's checks.
The four men were apprehended in Kuta within one hour of the crime being committed.(05)
