Badung Regent Discusses Green Transport Collaboration with British Embassy
Badung Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa received an official visit from a British Embassy delegation at the Badung Government Centre. The meeting discussed strengthening collaboration in delivering an organised and environmentally friendly transport system.
“Strengthening future collaboration to deliver transport system solutions that are organised, green, and environmentally friendly, while reinforcing Badung’s position as a world-class tourist destination that is adaptive to climate challenges,” said Adi Arnawa on Friday (21/8/2026).
The Badung Regency Government is committed to promoting the improvement of modern public transport facilities. This step is considered crucial to support tourist mobility while reducing carbon emissions.
“We continue to encourage the realisation of a sustainable public transport system in Badung Regency. Cooperation with international parties is key to accelerating the development of green infrastructure,” said Adi Arnawa.
Minister Counsellor for Development at the British Embassy, Peter Rajadiston, welcomed the sustainable development initiative offered by the Badung Regency Government. Peter also stated his readiness to provide technical support and development of environmentally friendly transport concepts.
“The British Embassy appreciates the Badung Regency Government’s commitment to addressing global climate issues. We are ready to share experience and technical assistance to accelerate the realisation of a green transport system,” said Peter.
This modern transport planning innovation is expected to overcome traffic congestion at various critical points in the Badung area. In addition, the presence of environmentally friendly transport modes is considered one of the efforts to realise sustainable tourism.
“Badung must remain a global tourist destination that is comfortable, safe, and environmentally conscious. The development of green transport infrastructure will bring long-term positive impacts for the economy and the quality of life of residents,” asserted Adi Arnawa.
