Badung Regency Government to Convert Former Fire Station into Daycare Centre
The Badung Regency Government is finalising plans to provide a daycare facility in the Pusat Pemerintahan (Puspem) Badung area. The facility, initiated by the Badung TP-PKK, will function as a safe childcare centre to enhance employee work productivity and assist the urban community who are actively employed. “The Chairwoman of the Badung PKK Steering Team had been considering that employees, and possibly the Badung public as well, really require childcare services. She previously conveyed to me a request to prepare a location for childcare,” said Badung Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa at the Balai Budaya Puspem Badung on Tuesday. The regional government projects that this facility will provide peace of mind for working parents while they leave their young children. The workplace daycare centre is expected to boost the productivity of state civil apparatus because their children’s care will be guaranteed safe during working hours. “I have already coordinated with the Regional Secretary. For the time being, the former fire station will be prepared temporarily. We will monitor the development, and if demand proves to be sufficiently high, we will certainly expand it further,” Adi Arnawa stated. The Badung Regional Secretary’s staff are currently compiling a feasibility study on the physical infrastructure of the former fire station building. He is targeting a smooth process for the periodic work and development so that this public service facility is ready for full operation next year. “This is currently in process, just getting underway. Hopefully, if possible, it can be ready by 2027,” Adi Arnawa concluded.
